Bedroom furniture
[Photo: dressing table and bedside cabinets]
A beautiful wardrobe sets the tone for a bedroom, but it is the furniture around it that makes the room work every day. A dressing table in the right spot for the light. Bedside cabinets that fit the gap either side of the bed exactly. A chest of drawers that sits flush in an alcove rather than jutting out awkwardly.
We design and hand-make bespoke bedroom furniture to your specific dimensions, so every piece fits its space perfectly. Because we make it ourselves in our Dorking workshop, it can be finished in the same colours and materials as your wardrobe doors and interiors, giving you a bedroom that feels designed as a whole rather than bought piece by piece.
Whether you are planning a complete bedroom overhaul or adding a few pieces to an existing room, we treat the project as a collaboration. Bring us a fully formed idea or start from scratch with our help. We handle everything from design and manufacture to delivery and, if you would like it, installation, with the same care we have put into our furniture since 1995.

What we make
[Photo: bespoke chest of drawers and dressing table]
Every piece is made to order, so the range is as broad as your ideas. Popular items include:
Dressing tables: sized for your space, with drawers and storage built in.
Chests of drawers: freestanding or built into a wardrobe run or alcove.
Bedside cabinets: made to fit the space either side of your bed.
Headboards: designed to match the rest of the room.
Sideboards: extra storage and surface space for larger bedrooms.
Shelving units and shoe shelves: for display or everyday storage.
Hanging rails: where you need extra hanging space outside the wardrobe.
Media units: a neat home for a bedroom TV and its cables.
Wardrobe and dressing room interiors: planned around what you need to store.
Drawers on all our bedroom furniture run on full-extension runners, so you can reach right to the back, with soft-close options for quiet closing.

Wardrobe interiors
The inside of a wardrobe matters just as much as the outside, and we never use standard drawer or shelf sizes. Every interior is designed around what you need to store, whether you are fitting out a new wardrobe or reorganising one you already have.
Interiors are built from 18mm high-density board, available in a range of colours and finishes. Many customers coordinate them with their wardrobe doors, but the choice is yours. Components include:
The result is a one-of-a-kind interior where everything has a place. For a full walk-through of interior options, see customisation options.
If you have a spare room or a large recess, we can fit it out as a dressing room, with hanging, shelving, drawers and a dressing table planned as one design. We have built open-plan dressing rooms with no backs to the units for a light, airy feel, as well as fully enclosed designs. See our walk-in wardrobes for more ideas.
A bedroom TV doesn’t need to sit on a chest of drawers with wires trailing behind it. A made-to-measure media unit gives the TV a proper home, with storage below and the same finish as the rest of your furniture. We have built TV areas directly into fitted wardrobe runs, so the screen sits neatly between the doors.
Designing a cohesive room
[Photo: bedroom with coordinating furniture finishes]
Does all your bedroom furniture need to match? Not necessarily. Some customers want every piece in the same finish as the wardrobe for a calm, unified look. Others prefer to coordinate, using a complementary colour or material for the bedside cabinets or dressing table, or to mix in a favourite vintage piece.
What works best is choosing pieces that share a material, a colour family or a style, so the room feels considered. Neutral shades such as whites, greys, beiges and earthy tones are timeless choices that create a calm, restful atmosphere, and you can layer in texture and colour through accessories.
Because we make everything ourselves, we can produce furniture in the same finishes as our hinged and sliding wardrobes, from Super Matt and High Gloss to woodgrain and painted oak effects. Come and see the samples at our Dorking showroom.

Reviews
“I need some replacement sliding doors for a built in wardrobe in a flat in Guildford. I contacted a number of companies; Sliding Wardrobe Warehouse were outstanding in terms of response and quality of work. No problems at all; highly recommended.”

“Great wardrobes fitted over 10 years ago, still working perfectly and looking great!”

“We went to the showrooms in Dorking where we had a warm welcome from Mark who gave us all the information we needed on the Shaker style doors that we wanted. On the day of the installation the fitter, also called Mark, did a very professional job and cleared away afterwards.”

The key pieces are a bed, bedside cabinets, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers or dressing table, and a mirror. A fitted wardrobe with a well-planned interior can take care of most storage, leaving the rest of the room free.
Not necessarily. Matching furniture gives a calm, unified look, but coordinating pieces that share a material or colour family can look just as good and add more character.
Neutral colours such as whites, greys, beiges and earthy tones are timeless choices for bedroom furniture. They create a calm atmosphere and work with changing décor over the years.
Fitted furniture is built to your room’s exact layout, so it uses every inch and leaves no awkward gaps. It also gives you more storage options, such as adjustable shelving, hanging rails and integrated drawers.
If we made your wardrobes, yes. For wardrobes made by someone else, bring us a door sample or photos and we will find the closest match from our finishes.
Both. We deliver every piece, and our own team can install it if needed, which is usually best for fitted or built-in items.
Yes. A dressing table can be built between or alongside wardrobes, with drawers and a mirror, so it looks like part of the same design.
It depends on the pieces and finishes you choose. We will give you a realistic timeframe when we agree your design.
Yes. Because every piece is made to measure, we can build chests of drawers, shelving and wardrobes that follow a sloping ceiling, which is especially useful in loft bedrooms where standard furniture won’t fit.
Yes. Headboards are part of our range and can be made in the same finish as your wardrobes and bedside cabinets, so the bed wall feels designed as one.
Yes. Sizes, storage, finishes and handles are all chosen by you, so every piece is designed for your room.
